International Master in European Regional Integration (IMERI)Download brochure (PDF 0.97MB)How to ApplyThe International Master in European Regional Integration (IMERI) programme examines the origins and consequences (for nation states as well as firms and citizens) of efforts and strategies to redraw boundaries of authority at the European regional level in the context of intensified globalisation.

Using an interdisciplinary and comparative approach, the programme focuses on explanations of the intensity and type of authority shift to regional institutions across issues and across regions.

It places particular emphasis on understanding the relationship between European regional integration and processes of economic globalisation, the development of new forms of governance, and the reconfiguration of the state.

The main aim of this program is to produce graduates that have advanced knowledge of political security, economic and socio-cultural issues on European region. In addition, the aim of this program is also to expose the students to policy-making processes in relevant fields relating to European regionalism.

The program educational objectives (PEO) are as follows:

  • PEO 1: Graduates will be employed in relevant positions pertaining to the EU and other related fields
  • PEO 2: Graduates will engage in the lifelong pursuit of knowledge and interdisciplinary learning appropriate for government, organizations, industry, and academia.
  • PEO 3: Graduates will contribute to sustainable development and the wellbeing of society.

General Information

Programme Duration:
  • Minimum – 2 semesters + 1 special semester*
  • Maximum – 8 semesters

* special semester commences during the session break

Semester Intake:
  • Semester 1 of the academic year, commences in the month of October
  • Semester 2 of the academic year, commences in the month of March

Entry Requirements

Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (CGPA 3.00 and above)

For international candidates whose degree is from a university where the medium of instruction is not English, a minimum score in one of the following standard language tests is required:

  • TOEFL test (paper-based) - 550 or more
  • TOEFL test (computer-based) - 213 or more
  • TOEFL test (internet-based) - 80 or more
  • IELTS test (academic) - Band 5.5 or higher
