Workshop on Academic Writing: Getting Your Paper Published

About

As we all know, publishing is an important business for academics and people write for various reasons. Dissemination of research findings is an essential part of the social science research process and writing in peer reviewed journal is the accepted means of communication. Thus, the old adage “publish or perish” has never been truer. This workshop is our response to meet individual’s needs to acquire specific knowledge and skills to write and publish journal manuscripts and institution’s needs to enhance research and publication. Over the course of this workshop, participants will be taught the whole process of writing an academic paper, the structure of a paper, and how to prepare a scientific manuscript for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The nuts and bolts of getting papers published will be emphasized. This workshop should be useful for post-graduate students, early career academics and young researchers who are actively conducting research and need to develop competence in academic writing skills
