In the 2022 Singapore Art Design Competition (SGADC), AEI PhD student, Guo Zixuan (supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sameer Kumar) won the Excellence Award with the title of "Character design under artificial intelligence".
This work completes the whole process of new media creation through artificial intelligence technology. Using artificial intelligence technology to find the original painting, then synthesizing the image and adding the sound, the whole process is realized by computer, which provides the possibility for cultural industry enterprises to save costs and greatly reduces the threshold for creation.
The SGADC event is a government-led Asian art event, initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) of Singapore, organised by the Singapore Cultural Matching Fund (CMF) and sponsored by the Sands ArtScience Museum of Singapore. The aim is to provide a better cultural experience for all citizens, thereby advancing arts and cultural heritage in new ways.
