The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization comprising 193 member countries, and is widely recognized as the world's largest multilateral international organization. Its mandate is to maintain peace, advance human rights, and promote justice, equality, and development. The UN's basic structure is comprised of its secretariat, funds and programs, specialized agencies, entities and bodies, related organizations, and coordination mechanism.

Today, the UN has offices in 193 countries globally, staffed by over 37,000 employees who work to assist member countries in developing friendly relations, maintaining international peace and security, fostering sustainable development, and promoting human rights. While securing employment with the organization may seem daunting, given the global and multidimensional nature of the UN's work, there are various entry points for candidates with diverse educational backgrounds and professional experience.

For this reason, we invite you to join Mr. Aaron Yoo, the current Deputy Director and Officer-in-Charge of the UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia-Pacific, in a webinar titled "Pursuing A Career in the United Nations," organized by the Asia-Europe Institute (AEI) on April 4th, 2023.

During this webinar, participants will gain insight into how to secure employment with the UN by exploring questions such as: What is the United Nations system? What job opportunities are available at the UN? Who is an ideal candidate for UN employment? And what are some application tips?
