TEACHING AND LEARNING NOTICE (PdP) FOR SESSION 2022/2023

Following the information received by the Asia-Europe Institute (AEI) through the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) regarding the Teaching and Learning session for the 2022/2023 academic session, there is some important information for the attention of all students at the AEI specifically.

1. Teaching and learning mode (PdP) for 2022/2023 academic sessions will be conducted face-to-face for all AEI students (Master & PhD).
    
2. For international students who are unable to attend the face-to-face PdP sessions due to their respective national policies due to COVID-19, you may request for exemption (and attend PdP through online method) by formally submitting an email request to: pengarah_aei@um.edu.my together with document to support your claim (evidence). Class attendance will only be counted for those who attend physically and receive exemption for online method.
    
3. It is also informed that all students who attend face-to-face PdP sessions MUST comply with the prescribed COVID-19 SOP as follows to prevent the spread of Covid-19:
    
   1. Use of Face Masks
       
      1. The use of face masks is MANDATORY when staying inside a building (indoor) including the time where the exam is carried out. If there is a need for leave due to medical reasons, the application for exemption must be notified and sent to the Chief Superintendent/Examination Supervisor along with medical documents as evidence.
          
      2. The use of face masks outside buildings (outdoors) and open areas is optional, but HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to continue practicing especially when:                 
         1. being in crowded areas
         2. individuals with symptoms such as fever, cough and cold
         3. individuals at high risk: 
             
   2. MySejahtera and UM Touch QR code scan are NOT MANDATORY when entering UM premises including examination halls in the University.
       
   3. Staff and students must not enter the UM campus including the exam location when:
      1. Positive for COVID-19 despite having complete vaccination status and
      2. During Home Surveillance Order (HSO)   
            
4. However, any changes related to PdP will be notified from time to time, subject to the latest instructions and circulars from the Malaysian Government, Ministry of Higher Education and UM Top Management.
