Dr. Sameer Kumar, Associate Professor, Asia-Europe Institute, University of Malaya, was an invited speaker at the recently concluded “Working Conference on ASEAN-UK Relations in the Changing Regional Architecture” held at the ASEAN Secretariat New building, Jakarta, on February 18-19, 2020. The objective of the conference was to explore the possibilities of strengthening ASEAN-UK relations, post-Brexit.

Dr. Kumar presented on the topic, “UK’s post-Brexit engagement with ASEAN: Regionalism, Trade and Security”. The conference was organised by ASEAN Studies Center, Universitas Gadjah Mada (ASC UGM), in partnership with the UK Mission in ASEAN and was attended by several experts from the UK and ASEAN member nations, official from ASEAN Secretariat, including H.E. John Lambe, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to ASEAN and H.E. Michael R. Tene, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community & Corporate Affairs. More details of the conference is available here.
