Teaching EU Studies in the ASEAN Context

Teaching EU Studies in the ASEAN ContextIn this 2-day online workshop, we will critically discuss the state of the art of teaching EU studies in the ASEAN context. We will hear the experiences of several practitioners from various countries and take a closer look into some cases studies, which highlight the difficulties of making Southeast Asian students understand the complexities of the decision-making processes in the European Union.

The participants will learn about the challenges encountered in the teaching of EU Studies in the ASEAN context and what kind of approaches are useful to make the complexities of European integration better understood in Southeast Asia. In addition, the participants will learn about success stories and about new approaches to make students more interested and knowledgeable in EU studies in their specific local teaching environment.
