AEI-HUAWEI CONFERENCE
Digitalization and Development, Ecosystem for Promoting Industrial Revolution 4.0 Technologies in Malaysia
Date: 11-12 October 2022
Time: 9am - 5pm
Venue: Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar
Note: Seats are limited to 80 participants, first-come, first-served basis.
Conference Background and Objectives
As waves of digitization and digitalization gained momentum by the turn of the millennium, the enthusiasm for industry 4.0 began to rear both promise as well as panic. On the one hand, the engineers began turning out in increasing numbers robots and drones that are driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning. On the other hand, the sight of unmanned autonomous vehicles began to scare millions of people as they feared losing their jobs in the new technological regime that has increasingly been proliferating all facets of life. This conference seeks to unfold the diffusion of digitalization and industry 4.0 technologies in Malaysia by focusing on the embedding ecosystem critical for its expansion. Given the irreversible evolution of digitalization and industry 4.0 technologies, the papers seek to examine its proliferation in the major sectors of agriculture, manufacturing, and services, as well as the intermediary organizations essential for the promotion and protection of the processes and orderly performance of the embedding infrastructure and socioeconomic agents. In doing so, the conference seeks to break ground by reviewing incisively policy instruments critical to quicken the orderly development of the embedding organizations and regulatory framework to effectively appropriate socioeconomic synergies from digitalization and industry 4.0 technologies. The papers presented at the conference are expected to be published as chapters in the book, Digitalization and Development: Ecosystem for Promoting Industry 4.0 Technologies in Malaysia by Routledge Press, which is expected to be out on February 25, 2023.
